To say "nah they never fucked up or changed their vision to appease people" is to say they never evolved in their views and opinions, that they unabashedly stood fast to whatever dumb bullshit they said with the show when it was just meant to be an irreverent piece of weird comedy, and that's diminishing the effects of everything they've ever tried to say since and all the points Matt & Trey have ever tried to make. That's reductive as hell and I'm sure even the creators wouldn't cop to such absolutist bullshit, especially since the show has gone on for so many years. You keep saying "they haven't fucked it up", as though that's not something everyone sees differently (therefore posts saying "they fucked X up") but instead of you explaining any of it it's a perpetual truth and not a matter of opinion of every single eye that saw each episode.
